I finally got a new pair of Danskos. I’ve worn the last pair out so completely that they make a “whooshing” sound whenever I step because there are holes in the sole where they’ve worn thin.
I bought my last pair over three years ago. And every time I tried to convince myself it was time for a new pair of shoes I nearly had panic attacks about spending that much money on a pair of shoes. Because really, shoes.
But Stans was having their anniversary sale, and I realize that these are an investment in helping my back and leg feel better so I bit the bullet. I’m happy about it, but I’d also forgotten how tight new Danskos are, I keep popping them on just around the house trying to break them in but always wind up taking them off about twenty minutes later. I’m pretty sure this is why so many people buy their first pair and then give up because they’re uncomfortable - because if I remember correctly it takes at least a week to really break them in.
And now I’ve spent far too long talking about shoes. Because really, shoes.
